AI Governance Lab

The AI Governance Lab focuses on creating the institutional framework for the AI transition. We study how law, policy, and institutions can keep pace with rapidly advancing artificial intelligence, and what changes might be necessary in the early years before we enter the post-AGI society.

The lab's work is inherently interdisciplinary, at the intersection of law, computer science, policy, philosophy, and political science. AI is a technology that engages all fields, and so too must the work that governs it.

Training is central to the lab. Students, predoctoral, and postdoctoral researchers lead their own projects with regular mentorship, and the lab supports that work with funding, weekly lab meetings, and close collaboration.
